InnoPath’s leading ActiveCare client solution provides handset vendors and OS platform providers both client technology and porting programs. Together, they enable over-the-air delivered customer care for both smartphones based on Windows Mobile, Android, RIM, and Symbian, as well as for featurephones. With over six years of experience at Tier 1 operators and major handset manufacturers worldwide, InnoPath’s client solution delivers the performance, richness of features, and ease of porting to make this new world of mobile customer care a reality.
InnoPath’s client, based on OMA-DM standards while extending upon them where appropriate, is interoperable with 3rd party DM servers and has been successfully deployed on over 350 phone models spanning Samsung, Sony-Ericsson, LG, Ericsson, Sanyo, Pantech, Nokia, and others. However, when deployed in conjunction with the InnoPath ActiveCare server, it provides a pre-integrated end-to-end OTA care solution that is easily customizable for the needs of specific operators or handset vendors.
Coupled with the client, InnoPath
ensures ease of integration for device
makers through a comprehensive set
of porting tools, rigorous end-to-end
testing services, and development
servers.
Benefits of InnoPath’s ActiveCare client solution include speeding time-to-market for new phones, preventing costly and disruptive device recalls, reducing customer service and warranty costs, and ultimately, improving brand loyalty and customer satisfaction.
Deployments with InnoPath on both client and server allow a "Standards+" approach where capabilities that are in advance of existing standards can be rolled out.
For smartphones based on Open OSs,
the operator may push the ActiveCare
post-load client to devices already
in the hands of subscribers. This
unique solution, leveraging the InnoPath
Lifecycle Client Manager, jumpstarts
ActiveCare capabilities including
Mobile Check, Check and Correct,
Device Control, Config, and Lock
and Wipe. If pre-loaded at time of
manufacture, the ActiveCare client
also supports firmware updates (FOTA)
via Mobile Update for Windows Mobile,
Android, and Symbian.
Featurephones,
based on RTOSes, and some of which
fall under the integrated device
category since their functionality
approaches that of smartphones,
are ActiveCare enabled via a client
pre-loaded at time of manufacture.
Exact ActiveCare functionality depends
upon the hardware capabilities of
the device.
