InnoPath Press Release

InnoPath Extends Mobile Device Management to WiMAX Networks

Delivers on Second Phase of Network-Agnostic MDM Evolution Strategy

Sunnyvale, California, June 10, 2008 – InnoPath Software, the leader in Mobile Device Management (MDM), announced that it has extended its iMDM mobile device management suite to include support for WiMAX devices. This announcement marks the second phase of InnoPath’s network-agnostic MDM evolution strategy, as previously iMDM was the only MDM server supporting CDMA and GSM from the same platform. This new support enables WiMAX operators to meet consumer expectations for broadband wireless by delivering a better, more reliable end-user experience.

As WiMAX operators begin to deploy their networks en masse, they can leverage iMDM’s proven carrier grade functionality in provisioning of WiMAX devices as subscribers sign up on the network. In fact, without the MDM provisioning module, a WiMAX provider cannot provide end-to-end services. Then as the market evolves, the WiMAX operator can utilize the platform’s rich Customer Care and Enterprise Care capabilities to provide remote device management that includes firmware and software updates.

“WiMAX is expected to be a key solution in bringing mobile broadband to emerging, rural and developed markets. Using InnoPath’s MDM product suite, operators will be able to offer the same level of customer care to subscribers be they in San Francisco, Tokyo, or San Salvador,” said John Fazio, CEO of InnoPath Software.

A rich set of standards-based WiMAX MDM capabilities are essential for new WiMAX networks as they permit subscriber billing as well as streamlining the introduction of new, increasingly complex devices. By incorporating MDM into their networks, WiMAX service providers can protect their business case and reduce their overall costs dramatically while also enhancing the quality of experience for their end-users.

InnoPath’s iMDM suite is already deployed by leading Tier-1 CDMA and GSM operators globally and WiMAX is the just the first broadband wireless protocol that the company will support. The company is also applying its proven operational expertise to assist operators through WiMAX deployment issues such as roaming between networks.

Future extensions to InnoPath’s leading iMDM Server Suite will include LTE and support for Fixed Mobile Convergence through Converged Device Management, thereby broadening MDM applicability while ensuring investment protection. These capabilities build upon the company’s demonstrated technical and operational leadership.

In parallel, InnoPath has demonstrated its support for single-standard WiMAX technology by joining the WiMAX Forum. The forum is an industry-led non-profit organization committed to promoting and certifying interoperable WiMAX products. InnoPath has long supported industry standards and server and device interoperability efforts, including playing an active role in the creation of OMA-DM standards.

About the WiMAX Forum

The WiMAX Forum was established in June 2001 and is an industry-led, not-for-profit organization of more than 520 companies to include over 200 operators formed to certify and promote broadband wireless products based upon the harmonized IEEE 802.16/ETSI HiperMAN standard. The WiMAX Forum strives to ensure global adoption of a common platform to deliver Broadband Wireless services as a standard alone is not enough to effect mass adoption of a technology. Along these lines, the Forum works closely with service providers, regulators, equipment manufacturers, test equipment manufacturers, Certification labs, and application service providers to ensure that WiMAX Forum Certified systems meet customer and government requirements. WiMAX Forum Certified™ products are fully interoperable and support all usage models of broadband wireless services.
